Last month, singer-songwriter Christopher Dallman released a fantastic EP called Never Was. Today, he's back with an EP of oddly compelling Britney Spears covers called Sad Britney which, according to Christopher was done as a fun side project to the Never Was EP. Steven Pasquale is a Broadway and television actor (Rescue Me) who has recorded a brilliant album of standards. The arrangements are gorgeous. The production is uncluttered. The engineering is flawless. And his vocals are absolutely perfect - never forced, never contrived, never overdone. He just opens his mouth, sings and he gets it. My favorite album of 2009.
